"Dear White People"

Writer, Producer and Director Justin Simien breathes onto the screen honest and poignant storytelling about identity and race. This film is fresh and accurate. It is also a satire of misconceptions of Black people that are hilarious and real.

The film, set at fictional Ivy League School Winchester University, brings multiple points of view from black students, students of color and white students. Simeon said his intention with this film is to tell how you survive in a world when your culture is decided for you. There is also the look of the struggle of the relationships between the black students.

The talented cast of Tyler James Williams, Tessa Thompson, Kyle Gallner, Teyonah Parris and Brandon P. Bell, deliver in getting the themes of the film across. Everyone also brings the dry and sarcastic humor.
