"Now You See Me"

Now You See Me is why people are on social media. This film will grow with buzz because it is original. History moves this mind-bending witty non-stop action film. There is even a love story because what edge of your seat thriller is complete without a little kissy kissy gaze of the eyes?

Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are the legends of summer. Isla Fisher continues to show why she is a bankable actress. Melanie Laurent can read her blood type from a crumpled napkin and be extraordinary. Dave Franco carries himself in the film. And then there is Common. Swoon. He has a small role but shows star power and that gorgeous bald head. This is one of the first films in a long time where there is an ensemble and not a cast.

The trailer does not do this film justice but could be a very smart marketing tactic. To reveal all in a trailer can absolutely turn the audience off from seeing the film. The film hits on pop culture as Morgan Freeman’s character, Thaddeus, is followed around by a camera crew to capture all of the setbacks that Detective Dylan Rhodes, played by Mark Ruffalo, encounters trying to capture The Four Horsemen. There is also a “Survivor” like quality to outwit, outlast and outplay the FBI that appears effortless.

The soundtrack is worth checking out. As “Entertainment” by Phoenix played when the end credits rolled, it seemed as though this is what this film achieved through holding your attention: giving you your hard earned money’s worth. The curiosity between on screen and real life is transparent. Your eyes will never ever be the same. Your mind will thank you.
