"The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

It’s a love story. It’s an action film. It’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

The film has an emotional story of love, loss and more loss. The story compliments the incredible action. The slow motion scenes were so vivid and fun, a moment of loss of breath in the excitement. The opening scene was the most action packed I have seen in a film.

Jamie Foxx as Electro was a commanding villain. Andrew Garfield brought the emotional element to Spider-Man that showed his true talent as an actor. However, his use of humor came across as more silly than funny. Emma Stone was good as Gwen Stacy. She was not just the love interest. She was a person with dreams and goals. Dane Dehaan was a stellar and sinister villain as The Green Goblin. Sally Field played a great supporting role as Aunt May. She was a person with dreams and goals. The scenes between Peter and Gwen when they were arguing were not necessary and seemed more like improv. The score composed by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Johnny Marr did not excite me.

“His greatest battle begins” is a accurate tagline for this film with all Spider-Man/Peter Parker will face.
