This film is so beautiful. Based on the memoir by Jane Hawking, the centerpiece of this film is the touching love story between her and Stephen Hawking. It is also about their relationship that was challenging and heartbreaking. Throughout the film, you see the fissures in their relationship that is not because of Stephen and his disease but long before in their disconnects in religion and science.
Eddie Redmayne is remarkable as Stephen Hawking. He plays the role truthfully. Felicity Jones is exquisite as Jane Hawking. She portrays the love and the struggle of not just being with Stephen but maintaining her ambitions. There is also a wonderful supporting cast which includes Emily Watson as Jane’s mother. Director James Marsh and Writer Anthony McCarten bring this story to life with sharp direction and engaging language.
